Professional Experience

Both of my professional experiences have taught me how each field functions and how to best comport myself in different occupational environments. I heavily value the individual research and presentation skills that I've learned from both internships. I have been able to use research capabilities from my academic experiences in different settings, to create whatever product or experience my supervisor wants for their company or affiliations' benefits.

I was asked to research primary sources from the Cause of Canonization of Mother Elizabeth Seton and provide posts for the 50th anniversary of her Sainthood in the fall. I consolidated hundreds of pages of official materials to produce a posting schedule with nearly 20 posts (written content & photographs), as well as 'undated' information for additional posting at their leisure this year. Secondarily, I was asked to provide research for future posts centered on the Sisters' European roots, for which I curated a 21-page document of notes for future application.

I also was tasked with processing the 13 box collection from their El Pomar Mission into their archives. It featured all possible types of documents and materials from 60 years of history and involvement in Colorado Springs, Colorado. I learned how to best detail the documents into the finding aid for preservation and future research. The finding aid document ended up being 61 pages long once completing all boxes and items.

LivingHistory.AI

I have been grateful to continue interning for Xavier Professor Jonathan Gibson in the development of his website and AI programs, LivingHistory.AI. This program allows people to interact with a historically based, ethically created AI avatar of historical figures. I am primarily focused on the research needed to give each person their proper 'knowledge sets' and also testing their responses to questions and interactions in the program itself. With AI being the forefront of many industries, I do believe that it can be helpfully utilized in public education, but it must implemented with care and have human experts checking components every step of the way.
