Digital Media

I have had the opportunity, through online academic outreach and through my administrative intern role at my local dance studio, to create and distribute important media online. Using social media platforms for education and outreach is important, regardless of the field, and while not within major or future career field, learning these skills are helpful for the future.

Social Media & Administrative Intern

From age 3 onward, I was a student of 1st Steps to Broadway School of Dance. When I was a junior in high school, I was employed as an administrative and social media intern. While in town (away from college), I help teach classes in a variety of dance styles, create schedules, transfer client contact information into the streamlined systems, and consistently interact with students and their parents regarding studio matters.

While at school (hours away from the studio), I send the push notifications and social media posts on the Parents Page group of the studio's Facebook platform. On a weekly and monthly basis, I post about upcoming studio events and requirements of students.

Student Involvement

These three posters/infographics were created to present research information online towards my Xavier University peers.

The infographic regarding Somalia was based on a six-week period of analyzing recent African newspapers.

The Literature project was created to push back against the potentially racist and/or classist views people hold towards classifying literature. This project sought to explain the facets of Literature versus practices like fanfiction, who chooses to raise writing about others, and what genres are likely to be taken seriously.

The National Unity project was created to show similar rhetoric in Home Front propaganda, despite opposing regimes and ideologies distributing war-supporting propaganda.
